Let There Be Color!

June 10, 2019
Color inspiration for your central Texas home Brookfield Residential

The wildflowers are in full, colorful bloom in Central Texas.

Bold colors from the fast-approaching summer are popping up in stores, too.

Plus, Pantone’s “Living Coral" is the color of the year; it’s described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”

If the array of colors have inspired you to brighten up the white walls of your Brookfield home, here are the trending interior paint colors for 2019.

According to Elle Decor, 2018 was the year of “edgier” colors, like fiery reds, metallics and ultra violet. This year, paint companies have been more mindful and taken a lifestyle-based approach when developing new shades. Says the publication:

“From powerful aquas to soft terracottas, companies are connecting the dots between consumers' home lives, mental demands, and digital engagement, which inspired many of the color picks this year.”

Elle Decor’s trending color picks include woodland shades, energizing coral, hunter greens, saturated moody hues, pale pink colorways, digitally inspired (mimicking the edge of artificial light), a contemporary twist on forest greens, misty blues, optimistic yellows and off-cream.

According to Décor Aid, its trending interior paint colors for this year are hazelnut, lilac gray, dark greens, muted pastels, soft clay, new blues, mustard, mist, mushroom and pewter.

Freshome picked similar colors for 2019 with dark greens, dusty pinks, warm creams and medium blues.

Finally, stylist Emily Henderson also echoed these trending shades by picking mossy green, schoolhouse green, teal, dusty blue, coral, yellow and dusty rose.

With so many colors to choose from, which direction should you go? The Spruce recommends to start with colors that you love. They also advise finding color inspiration in magazines and online.

We hope this post offers a little inspiration for a colorful change.
