“I like to hike, and that attracted me to the area,” Ted says. “I liked the amenity center for workouts. Kelly was the salesperson on the Brookfield side, and when she showed me this [home], I said this is it! It’s not too big; it’s just right. I like the scenery out the windows, and the master bedroom is downstairs.”

Dependable Lending 

Ted worked with Chip Jenkins at BRP Home Mortgage to secure financing on the 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath Brookfield Residential home in Easton’s Discovery Park neighborhood. The 6% closing cost incentive was higher than what the other lenders were offering at the time, and Ted liked that his property taxes are integrated into the monthly payments. “I didn’t know about the Texas processes, and Chip explained things to me,” Ted says. “With property taxes and all of that different than they are in California, Chip was helpful in letting me know what I needed to do. I enjoyed the Brookfield incentive, and I felt like I was well taken care of throughout the process.”

Close to Everything

Now that he’s settled into the neighborhood, Ted enjoys Easton Park’s trails for runs and riding his bike, as well as nearby McKinney Falls State Park.  “I’ve been having a good time here,” Ted says. “In the mornings, I hike or ride my bike around the area — I’ve located some nice trails I like around downtown Austin and McKinney Falls. It’s really convenient for me — it’s 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown Austin.”

Meeting the Neighbors

Ted has also been getting to know some of the other neighbors. “I just handed out candy to kids and their parents as part of the Wicked Walk,” Ted says, about Easton Park's community Halloween event. “I’ve met my immediate neighbor, and when I’m hiking, everyone waves and says hello. It’s been a very friendly atmosphere, which I really like. I love the scenery, and I love Easton Park. I don’t plan to move!”
