2016 Museums in Orange and Los Angeles Counties Brookfield Residential

Orange and Los Angeles counties both offer museums that boast stunning displays of art, culture and even science exhibits. Spend a Saturday checking out these museums!

Head out to the heart of Los Angeles and spend a day at The Natural History Museum. Be welcomed by a gigantic T-rex skeleton in the lobby. Explore the many pavilions, which feature everything from dinosaurs to rare gems and minerals. The museum has interactive displays for kids to enjoy and enough detailed information to keep adults entertained. During the spring, an exhibit hall becomes a concert venue for the First Fridays event.

Visit the sister museum of the Natural History Museum, which is close to Five Knolls homes in Santa Clarita.  The William S. Hart Ranch Museum is the former home of a famed silent-film actor and director, who produced a series of western films.  Walk around and explore a collection of Western artwork, pieces from early Hollywood and gorgeous furniture.

Recently renovated to include 25 brand new galleries, the Petersen Automotive Museum is back in full swing. The museum is located in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, less than 10 miles from our homes in Playa Vista.  You’ll see plenty of gorgeous cars on display, as well as sections of the museum dedicated to Southern California road culture and car history. Head downstairs to the second floor to learn about the industrial design process of creating a car from start to finish. End your visit with a fun driving simulation.

Glimpse into other cultures at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, which is just eight miles from Huntley at Greenwood in Tustin. Find artifacts from Asian, Pacific Island and California cultures that range from a few hundred to a few thousand years old. The museum also brings in rotating exhibits from globally renowned museums, such as the Smithsonian and British Museum. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10AM to 4PM.

Take the kids out for a day of fun at Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine, near Legado and La Vita homes! This interactive museum offers a variety of developmental and educational exhibits for children to explore. Each exhibit hall features a different chance to learn. Let them explore the bank area to learn about math concepts or let them build in the construction room to explore concepts of geography.

Before you head out to explore these great spots, take a tour of our homes in Orange County and Los Angeles County.
