Enjoy a night out under the stars in Los Angeles with these exciting spots best enjoyed in the summer time.

From musical performances to concerts and orchestral sounds with fireworks, there’s something happening nearly every night of the summer at the Hollywood Bowl. Invite your friends and family and watch live performances either from bench seats or above the bowl in one of fourteen picnicking areas. Order some sweet treats to enjoy throughout the show or sip on a glass of wine.

Go for something a little different by catching a movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Movie nights in this Hollywood location become more of a block party with a DJ spinning tunes before the movie. The films played throughout the summer include a great mix of classics and family-friendly features, so you’re sure to always catch a crowd-pleaser. Special guests, who often include celebrities and producers from the original film, often make appearances to give fun anecdotes and history behind the screen.

From July through August, spend your Thursday nights at the Twilight Concert series at Santa Monica Pier. Catch artists across an array of genres performing each week on the pier and enjoy a carnival game or ride on the boardwalk. Grab some tasty eats at one the many restaurants at the Third Street Promenade before the show.

Cool off during an evening outdoor performance of Shakespeare by the Sea. The troupe performs two different Shakespeare plays every season for free, traveling throughout Los Angeles and Orange County for Southern California residents. These productions are best enjoyed by bringing snacks, a blanket and lawn chairs.
