This year, our team’s hard work and dedication to these commitments was recognized by our industry colleagues with awards for BILD GTA’s Home Builder of the Year, DRHBA’s Low Rise Home Builder of the Year, and several other awards from the Durham Region Home Builders Association.

BILD – Home Builder of the Year

In June, we were awarded the highly coveted Home Builder of the Year Award (Low-Rise) at the Building Industry and Land Development (BILD) GTA Awards. This award recognizes builders who set the standard for the rest of the industry through their professionalism and dedication to excellence. A key component of the judging process is a customer satisfaction survey, which ensures that the end-user’s experience is factored into the award criteria.

This win is a testament to our team’s continuous commitment to doing the right thing, cultivating an exceptional customer experience, and creating the best places to call home. We are constantly challenging ourselves to innovate new ways to make our homes more appealing to homebuyers and improve the homebuying process.

We’ve focused on digital-forward initiatives through Empower to put complete control of the new home experience in the customer’s hands from start to finish. myTime has allowed home shoppers to tour models and move-in ready homes with dedicated appointments that work within their schedule. Our suite of visualization tools, myVision, has allowed home shoppers to immerse themselves in our homes and communities from virtually anywhere.

We’ve ensured our customers feel informed and updated throughout the homebuying process with myApps, an interactive app that gives instant access to essential information about their new home. Homeowners can quickly contact their Brookfield Residential support team, access essential documents, monitor the construction progress, and more.

We’ve innovated the way we build our homes to ensure they’re smart and sustainably built. Our homes include myCommand, home automation with smart devices or the sound of your voice. By incorporating these features as standard, we ensure a seamless user experience from day one and beyond. myEnergy focuses on sustainable living, ensuring our homes are built with sustainable materials and designed for the highest levels of performance.

We’ve dedicated ourselves to creating an exceptional customer experience and seek to improve where we can by creating a series of initiatives that are inclusive and seek customer feedback. We’ve launched Meet Your Builder homeowner meetings, closing day celebrations, and ongoing customer experience development programs for our team members.

Over the years, we’ve shown strong, consistent industry leadership through our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by building sustainable homes and communities as well as strengthening the areas in which we work through community services and charitable giving initiatives.

We have signed BILD GTA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pledge to create a workforce that is reflective of the diverse and vibrant populations of the communities in which we build. We believe in order to meet the real estate needs of all GTA residents, to create an industry that is socially responsible, sustainable and successful, it is essential to have a workforce that reflects this diversity. We will work closely with BILD’s government partners on key policies and issues that affect development and building in the GTA.

Earlier this spring, we won nine awards at the Durham Region Home Builders Association 2022 Awards of Excellence, including Corporate Citizenship, Community of the Year, Sales Team of the Year, Green Builder of the Year, and Builder of the Year.

DRHBA – Green Builder of the Year

This award recognized Brookfield Residential as a thought-leader in the realm of green building. Our efforts to create green, sustainable communities include green technologies and innovations across both our low-rise and mid/high-rise communities. We do this in a variety of ways such as actively encouraging the environmental benefits of recycling and composting by including garbage tri-sorters at each development.

We include smart home features such as smart thermostats and light switches in all homes as well as leak sensors and HVAC performance monitors. This ensures we are helping improve the environment as well as provide cost savings to our homeowners.

We work to mitigate the impact of our building and development operations on the environment and focus on resource management through water conservation efforts, stormwater management to capture surface runoff, and strategically plan construction timelines to limit material movement. We’ve prioritized Canadian materials and suppliers to not only support local businesses but to reduce the environmental impact of overseas shipping.

Our communities are developed to protect greenspaces and habitats for endangered and threatened species. If any impact is anticipated, we initiate a replacement or recreation of the habitat.

DRHBA – Community of the Year: Winding Trail in Uxbridge

We were also honoured with the award of Community of the Year from the DRHBA for our Winding Trail Community in Uxbridge. Winding Trail is a boutique enclave of townhomes that feature smart technology and flexible open-concept layouts, nestled beside the greens of Wooden Sticks Golf Club and adjacent to protected green space on its own private court.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved over the years, within the numerous communities that we’ve developed, and the 30,000+ homes that we’ve built. Our homes are synonymous with our core values of passion, integrity, and community.
