Brookfield Residential develops land for its own master planned communities, sells lots to third parties and constructs homes on lots it has developed or purchased from others. Brookfield Residential proactively manages assets and local management teams develop homebuilding strategies appropriate for each market.

Our sizable land inventory places us in the position of not having to replenish lands each year at ever increasing prices. Instead, we are able to optimize returns on our assets by selling finished lots into a supply-constrained environment. We have key parcels of land in every market and will continue to focus on strengthening our land and homebuilding operations.


We are uniquely positioned as a land developer with homebuilding operations in strategic markets in Canada and the U.S. With more than 98,000 lots controlled and over $4.0 billion in assets we have top-tier gross margins that promote strong profitability and cash flow flexibility to opportunistically pursue investments.


Diversity is key to our success. We start by acquiring land in dynamic markets with strong growth corridors, favorable employment and demographic data, barriers to entry, high quality of life.  

We target selected markets as we believe over the longer term they offer the following positive characteristics: strong housing demand, a constrained supply of developable land and close proximity to areas where we expect strong employment growth and the quality of life homeowners are looking for. 


We are a leading North American land developer and homebuilder with more than 50 years of operating experience. Our local management teams have an average of 20 years’ experience and are focused on enhancing market positions and creating value through the entitlement, development and building process.
