JOHN M. OAKES, M.A., C.P.M., R.C.M., ACCI, FCCI
President & CEO
John has been involved in the management of condominiums and rental buildings on a full-time basis for the past 35 years. He has been President of Brookfield for the past 10 years. John has been active with several industry groups; he has served as President and Director of ACMO, and Director and member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (Toronto Chapter). He lectured for many years in the two-year Property Management Program at George Brown College, has served on the Property Management Advisory Committee of the College and was Chairman of the Legislative Review Committee that reviewed Bill 81 for ACMO. John has also taught the Condominium Law Course for ACMO for the past 7 years. Over the past several years, John has been instrumental in leading joint Committees with CCI and ACMO to lobby the Ministry of Energy on matters relating to electricity pricing as it relates to condominiums. In 2004, he received the President's Award from ACMO to acknowledge his efforts to educate the Association on energy issues. Most recently, John has met with representatives at the Ministry of Energy on behalf of CCI and ACMO with the goal to ensure that the needs condominiums are represented and understood in the final release of the Regulations associated with Bill 21. He has been an instructor in the CCI Basic Level Directors course since 1987 and recently has also contributed his experience instructing the new Condo 101 course. In addition, John spent a number of years serving as a Director on the National CCI Board. He received his FCCI in 2006 for his contributions to the Institute.
SANDRO J. ZULIANI, B.A., C.P.M., R.C.M.
Chief Operating Officer
Sandro joined our team at Brookfield in June, 1987 as a Property Manager for King's Landing, a premier condominium. After five years with our Company and successfully managing a large Portfolio of Harbourfront properties, Sandro was appointed to the position of Regional Property Manager. Sandro is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (Toronto Chapter) and ACMO and brings to our Company a strong working knowledge in Condominium Management. Sandro has prepared various training and resource manuals, including effective operational and control procedures. Sandro was appointed Senior Vice-President of Operations in September 1999 and his primary role is providing technical, operational, financial and supervisory support to Boards and to Property Managers. Sandro is a member in good standing with the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario and he is a regular speaker at ACMO/CCI conferences. Sandro is involved in the start-up of all new developments and in the resolution of performance audits.
TRACY GREGORY, CMA
Senior Vice-President, Finance
Tracy joined Brookfield in November 1999 as Vice President of Finance. She brings great deal of accounting and IT experience and knowledge to the organization. Prior to joining Brookfield, Tracy held the position of Controller at Newstar, a software developer of Property Management systems and the system that our Accounting Department is currently using today. Prior to that Tracy held a number of senior accounting positions in the oil and natural gas industry. Tracy has over 25 years of experience in accounting, finance and systems and is currently an active participant on the committee to review and update the Accounting and Auditing Guidelines for Condominiums.
MURRAY JOHNSON, R.C.M.
Vice-President, Client Service Development
Murray joined Brookfield in 2008, bringing with him over seven years as a Regional Manager for other condominium firms. Entering property management in the non-profit co-op sector in 1992 following 10 years of international project management and facility management with Kodak Canada, condominium property management was the next logical step. Since the early 1980's Murray has been involved in various aspects of Facility Management, Employee Training and Development and Organization Development. The four years prior to joining Brookfield were focused primarily on new condominium start-ups, performance audits and first year deficit recoveries. The author of a two year CHMC sanctioned Ice Damming study Murray is also a member in good standing of CCI.
HANSON NG, CMA
Director of Client Reporting
Hanson joined Brookfield in 2003 as Director of Client Reporting. Prior to joining Brookfield Hanson spent several years as a consultant implementing real estate information systems. Along with his IT experience, Hanson has over 10 years of property management accounting experience, having worked for several commercial property management companies. Hanson has a B.Comm. in finance and economics from the University of Toronto and is a Certified Management Accountant.
LAURIE ADAMS, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Laurie’s knowledge and experience in hotel management, co-operative housing, and the interior design industry serves to provide the basis for her eventual career in the condominium industry. Laurie has since been in the condominium industry for better than 17 years. She began her career as a site administrator with Urban Property Management. She joined Banting Property Management, where she was promoted to Property Manager and obtained her Registered Condominium Manager (R.C.M.) designation. Laurie joined Brookfield in August 1998 as a Property Manager at The Towne located in Mississauga. Over the years she has managed numerous complex and diverse condominium properties very successfully in the Mississauga area. Laurie was appointed to the position of Regional Manager in June of 2006 where she continues to apply her knowledge and expertise to ensure the service of excellence expected continues to be the highest priority. Her properties span from north Toronto to Etobicoke and into Mississauga. Laurie continues to hold her R.C.M. designation and is an ACMO member in good standing.
WINNIE CHUNG, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Winnie has more than 20 years of property management experience. She has achieved fellow membership with The Chartered Institute of Housing in 1989 and she became a RCM with ACMO in 2008. Winnie has been managing upscale condominiums ranging from 500 to 900 units with multi-million dollars shared recreation facilities since 1988. She has been well-liked by the Boards of Directors and the unit owners and thus created a harmonious relationship for the condominium community. With her exceptional interpersonal skills and her knowledge in the physical aspect of the building, she has provided a successful link between the developers and the Board of Directors in their performance audit negotiation.
SUSAN HOWARD, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Susan joined Brookfield as a Regional Manager in October, 2002. Susan began working in the condominium industry in 1984 when she joined Wallace, McBain & Associates as a site administrator. During her tenure at Wallace, McBain she was promoted to property manager, then area manager finishing as an Associate and V.P. prior to the company merging with Greenwin Property Management Inc. At Greenwin Susan attained the role of Condominium Director overseeing the majority of the condominium portfolio before moving to Team Leader responsible for overseeing a west end portfolio of condominiums, residential and commercial properties. In 1988, she received her R.C.M. designation and her A.C.C.I. designation in 1995 and remains a member in good standing of both associations. Susan has been a member if the Board of ACMO.
SHARI DAVIDSON, B.A., R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Shari leads a team of Mangers for Brookfield,North of the GTA. When she joined Brookfield in 2003 she brought with her over 15 years of diverse experience and perspectives ranging from being a supplier to the industry, a condominium Board member and a Property Manager. Shari has extensive industry knowledge of reciprocal agreements, reserve fund studies, budgets, project management, legal issues and staff supervision. Shari holds a BA (Honours) from the University of Toronto, an R.C.M.designation from ACMO, a Certificate in Property Management from Humber College and is an Ontario Scholar. She is member in good standing with ACMO and an active member with the Canadian Condominium Institute — Huronia Chapter, currently holding the position of Secretary/Treasurer. Shari teaches the ACMO Finance course, writes for local Chapter publications and is a frequent local industry presenter.
HELEN KENNERNEY, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Helen joined Brookfield in 2001 as the Property Manager at The Excellence. She has been in the condominium industry since 1986 and held a senior management position with Provincial Property Management for 15 years. As Project Manager she was involved in retrofitting work and major refurbishing of older condominiums managed by the company. Helen holds her R.C.M. designation and is a professional member in good standing with ACMO. Helen has been an instructor for the in-house ACMO courses. She has had extensive involvement with technical audits and reciprocal agreements throughout her career and is considered an asset to Brookfield. In the Fall of 2003, she was promoted to Regional Manager.
GLENN LUCKASAVITCH, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Glenn joined Brookfield in 1999 and was promoted to Regional Manager in 2000. Glenn is a professional member in good standing with A.C.M.O for the past 25 years. Before joining Brookfield, Glenn had eighteen years experience in Condominium Management with Del Property Management and General Property Management. Glenn has had hands on experience with many rehabilitation projects, performance audits, reserve fund studies, fire and life safety and energy management and conservation. Glenn has shared much of this knowledge and experience with others and has contributed to C.M.H.C. s' Better Buildings Case Studies.
DEAN McCABE, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Dean McCabe joined Brookfield in 2001. He has been a Property Manager for 16 years, attaining his AIHM in 1998 and his R.C.M. in 2003. Dean is currently a Board member for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario and the chair of the Membership and Marketing Committee for that Association. As an instructor for ACMO he has taught the Administration and Human Relations course at both Humber College and for Brookfield employees through the in-house education program. Dean has had involvement with many energy retrofits and ecologically friendly projects during his years as a Property Manager. In the Fall of 2007, Dean was promoted to Regional Manager with Brookfield.
KAREN MERGLER, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Karen has over 26 years experience in commercial and residential property management, the last eighteen of which have been spent in the condominium management field. Karen has an extensive background in all aspects of building operations, including mechanical systems, fire and life safety, and energy conservation. Karen is a proponent of proactive management and administration of real estate assets, and has a strong interest in maintaining or enhancing building standards, while keeping a keen eye on the bottom line. Karen joined Brookfield on November 1, 2002 with Brookfield's acquisition of Menkes' condominium management division. She has attained her Registered Condominium Manager designation and is a professional member in good standing with ACMO.
RUDY PETERSHOFER, BA, MBA, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Rudy has spent the past 19 years in property management including 4 years as the owner of his own management company. He has served for many years as a Director of his own condominium and brings that added and valuable perspective to the position. Prior to his career in Property Management, Rudy spent 10 years with the City of Scarborough as a corporate financial planner, budget analyst and member of the corporate strategic planning team. Early in his career, Rudy spent a number of years as a Special Assistant to a federal cabinet minister. Rudy's educational background includes a BA and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Rudy has served on ACMO’s professional development committee and taught ACMO’s Condominium Law course at Humber College.
HEATHER SAVORY, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Heather entered the Property Management industry in 1986 with Wallace McBain & Associates. During her 14 years with the company she held various positions including Area Manager and Associate. With the Wallace, McBain acquisition by Greenwin Property Management in 1999, Heather moved to Greenwin as an Area Manager and was promoted to Team Leader. She joined Brookfield as a Regional Property Manager in October 2002. Heather has 21 years of extensive experience in all aspects of Condominium Management. She is very much focused on her portfolio of buildings in the East GTA and prides herself in providing support to her Team. Heather is a professional member in good standing with ACMO.
STEPHANIE SCOTT, R.C.M.
Regional Property Manager
Stephanie joined Brookfield as part of the acquisition of the condominium portfolio of Abinger Investment Properties on June 1, 2000. Stephanie holds her R.C.M. designation and sat on the Board of ACMO for 3 years. She graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and has worked in the industry for 12 years. Stephanie brought a portfolio of 6 properties to Brookfield from Abinger and is responsible for a portfolio of Brookfield properties in North York, Markham and Vaughan.
BRUNO WOJNOWSKI, B.A.
Regional Property Manager
Bruno entered the property management industry in 1993.His education includes a B.A. from York University and an Honours Diploma in Property Management from George Brown College.Subsequent to graduating he participated in the Curriculum Review Committee for the College.For several years he served as the Property Manager for the Corporate Head Office of Manulife Financial. He was a Portfolio Property Manager in our firm for nearly five years.Since 2003 Bruno held the position of Senior Property Manager for one of Brookfield’s flagship properties.He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of property management and has been instrumental in numerous cost reduction initiatives.Bruno was promoted to Regional Property Manager in 2009. |
